This program is designed for students entering college directly from high school and others wishing to prepare for possible admission to the Dental Hygiene Program. This option allows the student to complete the Program’s prerequisite courses, which apply to both the A.S. and B.S.D.H. programs. Students accepted into the Pre-Dental Hygiene program and who successfully complete these courses have priority for admission into the A.S. and B.S.D.H programs. Math Placement Testing: If the student does not place into either MA 115 or MA121, the student will be required to take MA093 during their pre-dental hygiene year. English Placement Testing: If the student does not place into EN101 the student will be required to take EN100 during their pre-dental hygiene year.
Policies, Conditions and/or Fees
Students who complete the fall semester of the pre-dental hygiene year with a CGPA of 2.85 (3.0 preferred) or higher and with a B or higher in both SC 104 and BI 140 remain eligible for consideration for the next fall A.S. or B.S.D.H. class. Students who maintain a CGPA of 2.85 (3.0 preferred) or higher and grades of B or higher in BI 235 and BI 141 in the spring semester will be eligible for consideration in the Dental Hygiene program.
