BA 328 - Social Media and Marketing

F,S 3 credits This course will explore how social media works, why social media matters to every business, and how to develop a successful social media strategy. Students will review new concepts, key media technologies and business models supported by social media. We will examine how organizations of all sizes use social media to build brand awareness, broaden their reach and engage customers. The course will explore how businesses integrate social media strategy into their existing marketing and technology infrastructure, and also examine important ethical issues that surface using social media. Students will have the opportunity to create Social Media campaigns across the following platforms: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube. Prerequisite: BA 206 or SM 321 or GD 102 or FM 102 or FI 103 or equivalent.
