AR 232 - History of Art II

F,S 3 credits The study of art from the Renaissance through to just before the Impressionism of the 1870’s. A broad range of art forms will be discussed, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, graphic arts and architecture. Emphasis is on the art forms of Western culture. Primary attention will be given to how varied forms of art are part of the world’s vast cultural and historical context. Field trips to Boston museums are a required part of the course. Reference Code: ACC: Humanities/Fine Arts. Prerequisite: EN 101 or EN 100.
